Two Grieving People Were Relieved By A Completely Random EncounterG.D.
Allen Hoe was a combat medic in the Vietnam War, a path that both of his sons followed when war knocked on their country’s door. Tragically, his oldest son, Lt. Nainoa K. Hoe died in combat in 2005, while deployed to Iraq. For months, Allen was left with the confusion that comes with grief — he wanted to know every detail, and that his son could rest easy now.
It wasn’t until later that year, when Allen went to Washington D.C. to attend the Memorial Day festivities, that he received that closure. He ran into the unlikeliest of people.
“I will never forget that face. Both of us kinda looked at each other and we started crying and we gave each other a big hug.”
When you watch this video where Allen recounts the full story, you might start tearing up yourself.
