It is good to see NFL players doing good deeds every so often because 1. It shows that they are using their celebrity status and fame to help the average American and 2. It helps balance out the stories that usually dominate the news: sports players doing something that got them arrested.

Here is the story of a few NFL players going out of their way to help a wonderful veteran.

Erich Orrick, a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Army, spends his days helping others through Wish for Our Heroes, a charity for which he serves as president.

NFL Players Pat McAfee and Coby Fleener, two players who were with the Indianapolis Colts during the 2014 season, were so impressed by Orrick’s generosity that they wanted to reward it.

They tricked Orrick into leaving his house for the weekend, then they performed extensive renovations, including additions of brand-new furniture and appliances.

After watching the video of Orrick’s story, enjoy another heartwarming tale of veterans’ virtue rewarded.
