The Secret of Sargent’s Mesa: Hidden Vietnam War Memorial Holds Lonely VigilDan Doyle
Somewhere off a beaten trail in a remote portion of Colorado, a mysterious monument lies hidden away, miles from civilization. The accompanying video raises more questions than answers: who crafted this solemn piece? how did it end up on this isolated glade? why all the secrecy? Yet the point is clear, the stone memorial stands as a lonely testament to the sacrifices of a generation.
This is a powerful tribute to those who fought in Vietnam. It is somewhere near Gunnison, Colorado, along the Continental Divide. It is obviously well kept, even though it is in the middle of nowhere. This film was done by some dirt bikers who were on an outing and ran across this monument by chance.
The film is clear and engaging all by itself, but the various stones, and the live rounds that have been left on the central monument indicate that a lot of thought went into it and that there are those who know it as a sacred place. I will let the film speak to you for itself.
