Specialist Allen Rogers of the Army National Guard won’t have to worry about putting food on the table for his family for a while. That’s because Eckrich, Albertsons, and Operation Home Front partnered together to give the Rogers family a year of free groceries to thank him for his service to our country. The Rogers family was understandably overjoyed with the news, which was a surprise to them.

Allen Rogers served in the Army National Guard for 17 years. During his service in the National Guard, the decorated Infantryman served multiple deployments within the United States and one deployment to Afghanistan. He and his wife, Christina, have five children and live in Idaho.

“This gift of groceries will allow us to put our grocery money towards other bills, which will be a tremendous help to our family,” Christina Rogers said. “We would like to thank Eckrich and Albertsons for their continued support of military families like ours.”

It may have been a surprise for the Rogers family, but it’s just part of an ongoing effort to support military families around the country.

Eckrich, a company which makes deli meats, has been partnering with Operation Homefront for six years and has donated more than $2.5 million “to support the organization’s mission to build strong, stable, and secure military families so that they can thrive — not simply struggle to get by – in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.”

Michael Baughman, director of marketing, said, “Eckrich is proud to have great partners like Albertsons who share the same values as we do. Eckrich has a long history of supporting military families all across the country and we are honored to present the Rogers family with free groceries for one year.”

Operation Homefront, which was founded in 2002, is on a mission to “be the provider of choice for short-term and Critical Financial Assistance, long-term stability and recurring support programs to military families.”

The organization helps provide financial assistance, family support, and rent-free transitional housing to military families around the country. By connecting donors with military families, Operation Homefront is able to help our veterans find stability when they need it most, often during times of transition from military to civilian life.

The men and women of the United States Armed Forces sacrifice so much for their country and fellow Americans. It is always wonderful to see companies like Eckrich and Albertsons give back to those individuals and support their families.
