Veteran Nathan Fair Sings a Heartbreaking Song for Those Returning, and for Those Left Behind

It wasn’t until he served in Iraq and Afghanistan that Staff Sgt. Nathan Fair saw his guitar as an escape. He’d play whenever he had a chance, whether it be for himself or for his fellow soldiers.

Once back in the United States, Fair understood that his guitar and his voice represented something different than an escape: they represented the brothers and sisters he fought with overseas—both those that returned, and those that did not. He found it important to use the platform available to him with his music to make something that he holds dear to him, his time in the military.

As you’ll see in the video, Fair’s instruments are more than capable of creating something heartbreaking, and beautiful.
