New Series Tells True Story Of The WASP For The First Time

Preview the new dramatic mini-series “FlyGirls – The Forgotten Fliers of WWII” in this video about the first female pilots in U.S. military combat. Although U.S. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter recently announced that women may serve in combat roles, more than 70 years ago these little-known Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) served with flying records equal to or better than men. Thirty-eight WASP died in service. The rest, still classified as civilians despite their exemplary military service, received no insurance, death or veterans' benefits.
