Making a Difference: New Hotline Aims to Help Veterans and their Families

The psychological effects of witnessing war compounded by the difficulties of readjustment to civilian life drive hundreds of veterans to addiction and suicide every year. But now, help is at hand. The Veterans Crisis Line is a helpline that connects veterans in need to qualified, caring responders who lend an ear, give good advice and follow up to check if the caller is getting adequate assistance from local health services. Any veteran in need can dial 1-800-273-8255.

Military service often takes a serious toll on mental health, and budget cuts may force veterans to fend for themselves. Sign this petition to help veterans get much-needed health care for PTSD.
