This Video Shows the Lives of Those Who Guard the President

The White House Marine sentries are the unsung heroes of the United States of America. While the Secret Service gets most of the limelight for what they do, the sentries who stand guard outside one of our capital’s most iconic buildings deserve much more credit than they receive.

The single Marine that you see outside the West Wing? Actually, there is, in fact, a series of four Marines who hold the position and rotate through 30-minute shifts. This video shows the daily duties of this incredibly important and extremely selective and honorable position. Isn’t it incredible how stoic they have to be?
