Former Marine Sgt. Marjorie “Marge” Hoffman, who served as a paymaster during WWII, is proud of her service to her country. “I wouldn’t change it for anything,” she said in an interview for Veterans’ Day. During Sgt. Hoffman’s war years, she experienced discrimination from her fellow Marines, but it didn’t bother her much. In fact, her take-charge attitude earned her the nickname “Sarge Marge is in charge.”

After leaving the service, Ms. Hoffman married and moved to Idaho where she turned 91 in 2015. While she remembers her time in uniform fondly, she admits that aging is difficult for her. For instance, she can no longer drive herself around since her driver’s license has been taken away.

Our older veterans go through the same hardships of life as the rest of their generations. You can show your support and respect for these aging vets by adding your name to this petition.
