Hidden Cameras Reveal What Americans Think About The Homeless

It’s not uncommon to come into contact with a homeless person, especially in a big city. But how do people react to these individuals? ABC’s “What Would You Do?” sought to find out how the American public in New Orleans views the homeless.

Two actors, one posing as a homeless man and one posing as a bartender, assumed roles at a restaurant in New Orleans. Customers brought the homeless man into the restaurant to buy him a meal not knowing that he was an actor. The bartender, time and again, refused to serve the homeless man on the basis of looks and status alone.

Watch how the people around him react to this injustice. It’s a truly fascinating and surprising social experiment. It also makes you wonder what YOU would do in such a situation.
