Celtics Surprise Airman’s Family With His HomecomingAvi Forstein
We know you love them. You know we love them. We all know we all love seeing them; so let’s share another awesome homecoming video.
Back in late January 2017, the Boston Celtics were hosting a “Seats for Soldiers” night at their home arena (called “The Garden” for those of you who do not know your Eastern Division NBA teams). While the Celtics won the game against the Detroit Pistons, that wasn’t the highlight and main enjoyment of the night.
During the game, the arena announcer read that Staff Sgt. Matthew Noll was currently deployed overseas with tours that included Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, and Qatar. However, when the announcement was over, Staff Sgt. Noll came out of the tunnel and graced the court…to the shock of his family!
The moment was so powerful, even the players on the Celtics thought that was the main highlight of the game. Celtics player Isaiah Thomas said,
“That was big time. That’s probably the best feeling they’ve ever had. You could just see it; you could them so surprised, so happy. They’re probably at a loss for words. That’s what life is really about; it’s bigger than what we do out there on the floor. Those guys, they put their lives on the line. For their family, that was big time. I’m happy for them.”
Enjoy this touching moment that we hope every military family will get to experience someday.
